Mountain area shallots "grow" into a large export industry
Fengdu scallions are originally from plateau regions. Since their introduction to Fengdu County in the 1950s, they have a planting history of more than 70 years. In recent years, Fengdu has explored a scallion planting and development model of “cooperative + base + farmer + company”, guiding operating entities to transfer land for standardized planting, thereby improving the level of scallion production integration.

Fengdu scallions originated in the plateau region. Since their introduction to Fengdu County in the 1950s, they have had over 70 years of planting history. In recent years, Fengdu has explored a scallion planting development model of "cooperative + base + farmer + company", guiding business entities to transfer land for standardized planting, improving the scale of scallion production. Currently, the total area of scallion planting in Fengdu County is about 10,000 mu, with an annual output of 15,000 tons. It is the largest scallion production base in Southwest China and became a national-level export food and agricultural product quality and safety demonstration area in 2017. The small scallion has "grown" into a major export industry that helps local people increase their income and become wealthy.
